Aaron Rosenberg No Small Bills and StarCraft: Queen of Blades Follow up Petition
After posting my photos wearing the Diablo III Tyrael Hoodie, I checked up my email inbox and surprised me an email from Aaron Rosenberg who hailed me with a friendly “Hey, amigo”. He let me know about his latest original work: No Small Bills.
Immediately, I asked him if there was any plans for a follow up on StarCraft: Queen of Blades. Those of you who got to read his novel may have a fond memory of how cool it was to read the novelization of the original StarCraft videogame which gathered the in-game story from few weeks after Jim Raynor stole the Hyperion battlecruiser from under Mengsk’s nose up to the moment the Overmind warp-jumped into Aiur.
For years, I have been expecting to read the follow up or continuation to Aaron Rosenberg’s StarCraft: Queen of Blades. Now that Kerrigan will take the center-stage in the upcoming StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm, what better moment to read the continuation to StarCraft: Queen of Blades, and the Brood War novelization?
So here’s what I’ll ask all of our legion of lore visitors to do. Join the petition, and let’s revolutionize the way Blizzard Entertainment Creative Team handles upcoming novels. WE, the fans, will tell Blizzard Creative what we want to read next. How does that sound? You the fan will ask Chris Metzen to “pretty please” pull a few levers, push buttons, and crank up a few switches to make a StarCraft: Queen of Blades continuation and the Brood War novelization be published a reality.
Join me my brethren. Will you be signing a petitiononline page? No. You will ask Chris Metzen directly via Twitter. Simply register/login to twitter.com. Follow ChrisMetzen Twitter by clicking the Follow button. Then send him the message: “We, the fans, want StarCraft: Queen of Blades follow up”.
You can also help by linking to this page on your blog, favorite forums, and social networks to spread the word. You never know. We might get the StarCraft and Brood War novelization. If the petition works out, and you help spread your interest, we could ask about future Diablo and World of Warcraft novel, comic book, graphic novel topics too.
That’s it. I have always loved the idea that fans could interact with Blizzard Creative Team to help decide what to read next. Now that they are closer to us in the social networks, it’s easier than ever. I encourage you to let Chris know you wish to read the continuation and novelization of the original StarCraft game, and the Brood War expansion.
The StarCraft: Queen of Blades continuation should gather the events surrounding the Invasion of Aiur and Tassadar’s sacrifice.
I interviewed Aaron Rosenberg a few times in the past when he wrote StarCraft: Queen of Blades, World of Warcraft: Tides of Darkness, and co-wrote World of Warcraft: Beyond the Dark Portal with Christie Golden. DuckBob Spinowitz has a problem. It isn’t the fact that he has the head of a duck—the abduction was years ago and he’s learned to live with it. But now those same aliens are back, and they claim they need his help! Apparently creatures from another reality are invading the universe, and only DuckBob can reset the device that maintains the barrier between dimensions. He reluctantly agrees to help, but how can a man whose only talents are bird calls and bad jokes, and whose only work experience is punching random buttons on a computer in a standard cubicle, be expected to save the universe?
No Small Bills is the hilarious new science fiction novel from award-winning, bestselling author Aaron Rosenberg, who has written books for Eureka, Star Trek, WarCraft, and many others, and is also the author of the rousing Dread Remora space-opera series for Crossroad Press.
