Amazon Ships StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm Collector’s Edition

All those fans who heed my call to pre-order the StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm Collector’s Edition should check out their Amazon account-associated email. Amazon has shipped the game already and provided a delivery track number.

Haven’t ordered the Collector’s Edition? Seems Amazon is still taking orders!! The order button is still enabled.

Note: I got an email from Amazon informing me the game has shipped. A few months ago, I had shared my live chat conversation with an Amazon representative who instructed me to cancel my older pre-order and to pre-order with the ship on same date option enabled.

Amazon Shipment Email

This is why I love to pre-order from Amazon — the game shipped March 11th at 3:08pm from a warehouse located in Delaware. By March 11th at 11pm it was already in New York City. It will be on my door in less than 24 hours, ready for release date (March 12th). No need to stand in a long line to be told there is no Collector’s Edition for me, or that I had to pre-order it first, or other non-sense.

I’ve ordered every collector’s edition for Blizzard games from Amazon since they switched the launch times to be 3:00 AM EST time (midnight PST.) It was already hard enough staying up to play at midnight…

I never understood why launches are done at 12am or 3am. Once people start playing they won’t stop until the campaign is finished. I spent several hours playing through with no sleep.

Alright, it’s my decision, and my stupidity — but it’s a fact. Once you start playing and get hooked up into the story you want to keep playing to find out more. Like when you read a great book with interesting twists and you can’t stop reading till you finish it.
