WHAT: Red Bull Battle Grounds, a premier competitive video game tournament series featuring the world’s top players of Blizzard Entertainment’s award-winning real-time strategy game, StarCraft II, concludes this Saturday, September 19th in the Washington, D.C. area promising a historic finale that will be streamed live on www.redbullbattlegrounds.com. Throughout the summer, Archon Mode—a new mode that requires two players controlling one army—took center stage as the tournament showcased some of the most competitive plays seen on the StarCraft II circuit. Archon Mode brings forth a brand new format, with its inclusion in the upcoming Legacy of the Void expansion pack scheduled to launch on November 10th.

Four teams – eight elite players – from all around the world have battled it out this summer adapting to the new Archon Mode format to secure their spot in the Red Bull Battle Grounds Grand Finals. Here they will showcase their skills and show the world why they deserve to take home the grand prize.

With Red Bull Battle Grounds drawing to an epic conclusion during the Grand Finals this Saturday, only one team will lay claim to the title of champions. Last year’s reigning Red Bull Battle Grounds champion, Choi “Bomber” Ji Sung, will have much to prove as he faces off against his fellow prestigious StarCraft II veterans and fight for the trophy one last time. With his recently unveiled partner, Mun “MMA” Seong Won, responsible for eliminating Bomber from BlizzCon 2014, how will this unlikely duo overcome their own challenges and fare in their debut performance? Or will one of the most successful StarCraft II players of all time, Jang “MC” Min Chul, a previous Red Bull Battle Grounds champion and recent retiree, and his North American partner, Chris “HuK” Loranger, decimate the competition? Also making their returns to the Red Bull Battle Grounds stage after failed attempts at the glory last year are the final two teams, Park “DongRaeGu (DRG)” Soo Ho and Yoo “True” Ki Sung and Kim “viOLet” Dong Hwan along with Maru “MaSa” Kim. The stakes are at an all-time high as only one team will come out victorious.
