Eye for an Eye | StarCraft: Remastered (Zerg Campaign #8)
Overmind: Behold, my long silence is now broken, and I am made whole once more. The cunning Protoss have dared strike down that which was immortal. For the Protoss who murdered Zasz are unlike anything we have faced before. These Dark Templar radiate energies that are much like my own, and it is by these energies that they have caused me harm.
Yet shall their overweening pride be their downfall. For when the assassin Zeratul murdered Zasz, his mind touched with mine, and all his secrets were made known to me. I have taken from his mind the secret location of Aiur, the Protoss Homeworld.
At long last, my children, our searching is done. Soon we shall assault Aiur directly.
Daggoth: For now we must ensure that the Dark Templar can cause no more harm. Cerebrate, you shall set a trap for our foes. Kerrigan will lead them to you.

OBJECTIVES
- Destroy the Protoss bases.
- Let no Dark Templar escape.
- Kerrigan must survive.
TIPS
- Use the PLAGUE spell to severely damage any unit or building. It will cause up to 300 points of damage to its target, but will not kill a target.
- You can move ground forces between colonies quickly using the Nydus Canal.
RESOURCES
This is a peculiar mission where you must prevent the Dark Templar from reaching any of 3 beacons. You start with a main base, expansion base 1 (top-left corner of the map), and expansion base 2 (bottom-right corner of the map). All of these bases are interconnected by Nydus Canals.
Main Base: You start with 2 SCVs, 2 Overlords, 2 Hydralisks, and 2 Ultralisks. There are 6 Zerglings and an Overlord at a beacon, south of your main base.
Top-left Base: 1 Hatchery. 2 Zerg and an Overlord at the beacon.
Bottom-right Base: 1 Hatchery. 2 Hydralisks, 2 Zerglings, and an Overlord by the beacon (northwest of the Hatchery).
300 Minerals – 350 Vespene Gas
– 22/43 Units
.
STRATEGY
Marked below in red are the protoss bases with a Nexus. Marked in yellow are mineral fields with no protoss Nexus, but moderately guarded. The western one is the most guarded with a Protoss Stargate and research buildings.
Send the 2 Drones to harvest minerals.
Morph a Drone in each of the 3 Hatcheries across the map.
Move the 2 Ultralisks to the beacon.
Send the Drones in both expansions through the Nydus Canal to your main base to harvest minerals.
Morph a Drone in each of the 3 Hatcheries. Continue this pattern until you have morphed 11 Drones and reach 43/43.
Morph a new Overlord.
Mutate a Drone into a new Hatchery at the main base.
Mutate a Drone into an Extractor at the Vespene Geyser at the main base (located to the right of your Nydus Canal). Send 3 Drones to harvest Vespene Gas when it is completed.
Morph 3 new Drones at the main Hatchery.
Mutate a Drone into a Spawning Pool.
Mutate a Drone into an Evolution Chamber.
Morph 5 new Drones at the Hatcheries, send the ones at the expansion bases through the Nydus Canal to harvest minerals.
Once the Evolution Chamber is complete, evolve Missile Attacks [A].
When the Spawning Pool is complete, mutate a Drone into a Hydralisk Den.
Morph 3 Overlords and 3 Hydralisks at the main base. Rally them to the beacon to support your other units.
When the Hydralisk Den is complete, evolve Grooved Spines [G]
Morph 3 Hydralisks at the southern expansion base. Rally to the beacon to support your other units.
Morph 3 Hydralisks at the western expansion base. Rally to the beacon to support your other units.
Click the Hydralisk Den. Evolve Muscular Augment to increase the Hydralisk movement speed.
Continue to morph new Hydralisks. Align the Hydralisks to form a straight line blocking the path through the canyon. Make them hold position. That way, the Dark Templar can’t pass through at all with the body blocking.
At 71/76, click the Evolution Chamber. Evolve Carapace (C) Level 1.
Morph 9 Overlords across each Hatchery. This pushes limit to 76/132.
Morph 12 Hydralisks across all Hatcheries.
Send 12 Hydralisks to attack the top-center of the map. There is a Mineral field with a Vespene Geyser — it is protected by 2 dragoons, 2 Scouts, and a Photon Cannon.
Send a Drone to mutate into a Hatchery at the top-center expansion base.
After claiming the new expansion base, send the 12 Hydralisks back through the Nydus Canal to the main base. Then send them through the other Nydus Canal to land at the bottom-right expansion base.
Send the 12 Hydralisks to attack the expansion field directly north of your bottom-right corner base. It is only protected by 2 Scouts and a Photon Cannon.
Send a Drone to mutate into a Hatchery at that new expansion base.
Mutate a Drone into a Creep Colony near your two Nydus Canals at the main base.
Morph more Hydralisks and push to 105+/124. Rally them to assist your offensive troops. The next protoss base has Reavers which can kill several Hydralisks.
Head north all the way to the east-center of the map. There is a ramp that leads to the next protoss base.
Morph 12 Drones and send them to the top-center expansion base to harvest minerals. Mutate one into an Extractor at the Vespene Geyser. Later assign 3 Drones to harvest Vespene Gas.
Morph 12 Drones and send them to the new expansion base north of your bottom-right corner expansion base. Mutate a Drone into an Extractor at the Vespene Geyser. Later assign 3 Drones to harvest Vespene Gas.
Evolve a Hatchery into a Lair.
Morph 2 new Overlords to reach 112/149 limit.
Destroy the protoss base east-center of the map.
Click the Lair and evolve Pneumatized Carapace to increase Overlord movement speed.
Morph 12 new Hydralisks at the Hatcheries.
Morph more Drones to harvest minerals at all your new expansion bases.
When you destroy the protoss base, a message appears onscreen.
Kerrigan: Once again, I grow tired of slaughtering your servants. Havev the mighty Templar lost their infallible courage?
Zeratul: Well spoken, Concubine of the Zerg. But though we strike at you from the shadows, do not think that we lack the courage to stand in the light. You would do well to abandon this attack.
Kerrigan: You seem overconfident of your abilities, dark one. I am no helpless Cerebrate to be assailed under cover of darkness. I am the Queen of Blades, and my stare alone would reduce you to ashes. You and your ilk cease to amuse me. Prepare yourself for oblivion’s embrace.
Send a Drone to mutate into a Hatchery at that new expansion base.
Move all of your Hydralisks northwest to attack the west-center portion of the map.
Morph 12 new Hydralisks and rally them to assist your main force to attack the second protoss base.
Send a Drone to mutate into an Extractor at the Vespene Geyser. (see the minimap).
Mutate a Drone into a second Evolution Chamber at the main base.
At the first Evolution Chamber, evolve Missile Attacks [A] Level 2.
Once the second Evolution Chamber is complete, evolve Carapace [C] Level 1.
Morph 12 new Hydralisks at the Hatcheries.
Morph 2 new Overlords at the Hatcheries afterwards.
Morph new Drones to harvest minerals at the last Hatchery. Morph a Drone into an Extractor at the Vespene Geyser and send 3 Drones there to harvest Vespene Gas, once that is completed (see the minimap for the location).
Morph 12 new Hydralisks at the Hatcheries.
Once the two upgrades are complete, send all your Hydralisks to the bottom-left corner of the map to attack the second Protoss Nexus base. Be extra carful. They have a lot of Reavers that can decimate your 5-6 Hydralisks in one attack.
Enter the base from the bottom, and going in a straight line toward the Nexus. Take out the Nexus to complete the mission. This is the second Protoss base (bottom-left corner of the map) in full view:
You don’t need to kill every single unit in the map, and every single building in the map. Just destroy the 2 Nexus and the mission is completed. Just make sure probes don’t buid a new Nexus at any of the mineral fields.
Morph a new Hatchery at the base shown in the mini-map below and continue to morph new Hydralisks until both protoss Nexus are destroyed.
Kerrigan: Now, Protoss, you shall know my wrath. Now you will know the fury of the Queen of Blades!
