Higher Ground | StarCraft: Remastered (Protoss Campaign #3)

Citadel of the Executor.

Two hours later.

BRIEFING

Fenix: Executor, I bring news most dire. The Cerebrate that we thought we had killed has arisen again. The creature’s battered form was reincarnated, despite the considerable damage we inflicted upon it. Even now, the Cerebrate drives its Brood in preparation for their next offensive.

Aldaris: It is as I feared. It was folly to believe Tassadar could be trusted. The Conclave will not soon forget his wanton betrayal. Nevertheless, we must stand resolute. For attacking defenseless Cerebrates is not the way of true Protoss warriors! We shall overcome the entire Swarm with the might and the fury that is our heritage!

Executor, we shall lead our main strike force to the province of Scion which has fallen to the Zerg. It’s time the Zerg felt the wrath of the Sons of Aiur! Praetor Fenix will remain here with a small detachment and guard Antioch from any further assaults.

Fenix: Adun be with you, Executor. Bring swift death to the enemies of Aiur.

OBJECTIVES

  • Destroy the Zerg colonies.

Build 2 new Probes.

With your 2 Scouts patrol the area shown in the mini-map (image below) to kill all zerglings scattered throughout the map — so they won’t attack your base later on. There are 6 zerglings at the bottom-left corner of the mini-map. This will be your new expansion base.

Build a third Gateway.

Build 2 new Probes.

Build a Pylon.

You should divide your army into protecting the north of your buildings, and the minerals — sometimes 3-4 Hydralisks attack the Probes.

Build 3 new Dragoons.

Send a Probe to build a new Nexus at the expansion base (located bottom-left corner of the mini-map).

Build a Pylon at the new expansion base.

Build a new Nexus at your second expansion base as lose to the Vespene Geyser as possible.

Build a Pylon above the Nexus at this second expansion.

From this point forward, continue the same pace of building new Dragoons.

Build 6 new Probes while the Nexus is 3/4 completion. Send them to this second expansion to harvest Minerals.

Build 2 Photon Cannons behind the Nexus at the second expansion.

Build a new Assimilator at the Vespene Geyser. Assign 3 Probes to harvest Vespene Gas once it is complete.

By now the Zerg base (west) should be destroyed.

OPTIONAL: There is a hidden expansion base at the top-left corner of the mini-map. In addition of the zerg base you just destroyed, that’s 4 expansion bases you have available to destroy the next Zerg base.

Amass all your army now down the ramp to the Zerg base (north of your main base) until all units are on lower ground.

Send the army of Dragoons to destroy the Zerg base. You should probably prioritize attacking from the north to destroy the Hydralisk Den.

When you destroy the 2 Zerg bases in the map, a new message pops onscreen.

Fenix: Executor! Antioch is under attack by overwhelming Zerg forces!

Aldaris: Praetor, you must hold your position for as long as possible. Fight on, brave Fenix. And know that the gods watch over you. En Taro Adun!
