Speculation: New Content Coming for StarCraft: Remastered and Warcraft III: Reforged?
Blizzard Entertainment is now looking for a Lead Game Designer for StarCraft II and two Classic Games.
A few days ago, I posted the sighting of a new Classic Games job opening for a Senior UI/UX Designer for StarCraft, StarCraft 2, WarCraft 3, and Heroes of the Storm.
I mean, I can see how StarCraft II and Heroes of the Storm might need one due to Co-op Commanders; and new Heroes and special events. But think about it… why would StarCraft: Remastered or Warcraft III: Reforged need UI/UX designer support for?
As far as I can use my imagination here, maybe some of the missing features such as Clans, Ladder, Automatic Replay Saving/Watching, Chat system, Channel Lobby, and more.
I mean, those games are already completed, and there was never a second expansion for any of those two games beyond Brood War and The Frozen Throne.
None has anything akin to Co-op Commanders either. I could totally read it wrong, and you too seeing something is going on here; or we can scratch it off as nothing there to see.
Then a second job opening was posted 8 hours ago, and now things are starting to feel like no coincidence. Something is in the oven.
Blizzard Entertainment is looking for a Lead Game Designer to work on:
- StarCraft II
- StarCraft: Remastered
- Warcraft III: Reforged
From the very beginning when I got access to the Warcraft III: Reforged beta, I could see potential for Blizzard to expand Warcraft III.
The Collections tab is a good indicator: Skins, Versus Portraits, and Campaign Portraits. But why does it have to end there?
It is funny that Blizzard added Cataclysm Thrall and Battle for Azeroth Jaina skins to Warcraft III.
Could Blizzard dare to release new Warcraft III: Reforged expansions beyond Wrath of the Lich King or Brood Wars?
Maybe small story campaigns akin to Nova Covert Ops?
Or Co-op Commanders for both remastered games?
Any of these are good examples why Blizzard might need a Senior UI/UX Designer and a Lead Game Designer for StarCraft: Remastered and Warcraft III: Reforged.

Another thing to note is that there is no StarCraft category in the Blizzard Careers page. StarCraft II is now considered and listed (in terms of new job openings) in the “Classic Games” category.
