Mission: Demolition of Compromised Vessel
EDITOR: Cinematic plays onscreen. Terran Dominion soldiers dock into the Amerigo science vessel to deploy a timed nuclear bomb.
Marine: Thank God for cold fusion.
Marine: Hey are we really gonna blow this place?
Marine: Only if we see a Zerg.
Marine: Yeah I got your Zerg right here.
(Drinks a beer. A Hydralisk blade impales his skull from behind).
Marine: What the hell is happening?
(2 Hydralisk crawl through the corridor toward them).
Marine: Go go go!
Marine: Behind you!
Marine: We’re all dead! Blow it! Blow it!
THE DARK TEMPLAR
Primary Hive Cluster
Planet Char
BRIEFING
Kerrigan: Do you feel that, Cerebrate? The Protoss are here. On Char. They have been for some time… Hiding.
Protoss commander, it was folly of you to come here. For I am Kerrigan, and I am Queen of the Zerg!
Tassadar: I know of you well, O Queen of the Zerg, for we have met before. I am Tassadar, of the Templar. I remember your selfless exploits, defending humanity from the Zerg. Unfortunately it is, to see that one who was once so honorable and full of life would succumb to the twisted wiles of the Overmind.
Kerrigan: Do not presume to judge me, Templar. You’ll find my powers to be more than a match for yours. In fact, I sense that your vaunted power has diminished since last we met.
Tassadar: Mayhap, O Queen. Or is it only that I need not flaunt my power in such an infantile test of will?
Kerrigan: Foolish Templar. Prepare your defenses! I will come for you soon.
OBJECTIVES
- Exterminate the Protoss intruders.
- Kerrigan must survive.
TIPS
Zerg Mutalisks can be transformed into a unit called the Guardian. Once a Spire is upgraded into a Greater Spire, all Mutalisks automatically gain the ability to transform into Guardians.
RESOURCES
You start with 4 Drones, 2 Mutalisks, 2 Guardians, 2 Overlords, and 4 Hydralisks.
Buildings: Hatchery, Spawning Pool, Hydralisk Den, 1 Creep Colony, 1 Spore Colony, and 1 Sunken Colony.
200 Minerals – 250 Vespene Gas
– 16/25 Units
.
STRATEGY
Zasz: Kerrigan, I sense something strange about this Templar. Perhaps you should reconsider your attack.
Kerrigan: For the last time Zasz, you question my motives and authority at your own peril.
Zasz: You dare threaten a Cerebrate? You will be the doom of us all!
Send your 4 Drones to the Minerals.
As Larva become available, morph 3 new Drones at the Hatchery.
At 19/25, select a Drone and build a second Hatchery.
Morph 4 new Drones at the Hatchery.
At 23/25, send a Drone to mutate into an Extractor at the Vespene Geyser.
Send your two Guardians to this spot to kill a Zealot.
Morph 2 Drones at the Hatchery.
Send the 2 Guardians to kill the 2 Dragoons — then 3 Zealots and a reaver at the mineral field south of your base, left edge of the mini-map. This will later become your expansion base. However, it is a high ground island. No ramp. There is a second expansion island east of your main base.
Send the 2 Drones that hatch to collect Vespene Gas at the Extractor.
Morph 2 new Drones at the two Hatcheries.
Click the Hydralisk Den and evolve Grooved Spines to increase Hydralisk damage.
At 30/34, morph 1 new Drone and 1 Overlord at the Hatcheries.

Once the Lair is complete, evolve Pneumatized Carapace to increase Overlord movement speed.
Morph 3 Hydralisk at the Hatcheries.
Send a Drone to mutate into a third Hatchery.
Morph 6 Hydralisks at the Hatcheries.
When the Lair completes evolving Pneumatized Carapace, evolve Ventral Sacs to allow the Overlords to transport minions.
Morph 12 more Hydralisks at all three Hatcheries as soon as resources become available.
Send all of your Hydralisks to attack the protoss base at the eastern edge of the map — east of your main base.
This is what that enemy base looks like in full. Be very careful with those 3 Reavers. They can annihilate all Hydralisks in a matter of 3-5 attacks. If the reavers aggro, retreat from the protoss base, and send in the 2 Guardians to destroy the Cannon and the 3 Reavers. Then finish off with the Hydralisks.
Morph more Hydralisks at the Hatcheries and Overlords to reach 91/91.
Click the Evolution Chamber. Evolve Carapace .
Use an Overlord to transport 2 Drones to the high ground island east of your main base. Mutate them into 2 Hatcheries.
Morph 6 Hydralisks at the main base Hatcheries.
Send an Overlord to transport 2 Drones at the expansion island south of your main base. Mutate them into 2 Hatcheries — one near the minerals, another at the Vespene Geyser south.
Morph 6 Drones at the main base Hatcheries.
Morph a Drone into a second Evolution Chamber.
Bring an Overlord to load 6 Drones and transport them to the expansion island east of your main base. Send the Drones to gather minerals. Morph new Drones at that base.
Send another Overlord to load 6 Drones and transport them to the Expansion Island south of your main base. Send them to gather minerals. Morph new Drones at that base.
Morph 4 new Drones at the main base. Send them to collect minerals.
Click the Evolution Chamber and evolve Missile Attacks Level 2 [A].
Click the second Evolution Chamber and evolve Carapace Level 2 [C].
Morph 3 new Drones at the eastern Expansion base.
Morph 9 new Hydralisks at the main base.
Mutate a Drone into an Extractor at the eastern expansion base.
Mutate a Drone into a Queen’s Nest — Press V for Advanced Mutation, then Q.
Mutate 2 Drone into a Creep Colony at the southern expansion base.

Morph 6 new Hydralisks at the main base Hatcheries.
Mutate the Creep Colony at the eastern expansion base into a Sunken Colony.
Upgrade the Lair into a Hive.
Send your Hydralisks to the eastern protoss base area to destroy anything that has been rebuilt (if any), and then move them south to the next protoss base.
Morph 9 Hydralisks at the main base.
Send a Drone to mutate into a new Hatchery at the destroyed eastern protoss base.
Morph 9 Hydralisks at the main base. Rally them to join your troops at the south protoss base.
Click the Evolution Chamber to evolve Missile Attacks Level 3 [A].
Click the second Evolution Chamber to evolve Carapace Level 3 [C].
Morph 9 Hydralisks at the main base Hatcheries.
As soon as the Level 3 upgrades are completed at the Evolution Chamber, send all of your Hydralisks to the southern protoss base. It is immense.
Send a Drone to mutate into a Hatchery at the protoss base as you begin to destroy a path through their buildings.
Continue to morph more Hydralisks and rally them to your troops for support.
Build a fourth Hatchery at the main base.
Morph 9 Hydralisks at the main base.
Morph more Drones at the destroyed eastern protoss base. Send them to gather minerals.
Mutate a Drone into an Extractor at the southern expansion base. Put 3 Drones to gather Vespene Gas when it’s completed.
Continue that pace until you destroy the protoss base. This mission takes about 28 minutes to complete.
You should probably mutate a Spire into a Greater Spire and add Mutalisks and Guardians to finish off the base — as those Reavers can seriously annihilate your Hydralisks. Mutalisks could help with destroying Scouts trying to kill the Guardians.
Once the protoss base is destroyed a message pops onscreen.
Kerrigan: Where are you Tassadar? Do your underlings always do your fighting for you?
Tassadar: This shall be our battleground, O Queen. Face me here, and I will defeat you myself.
NEW MISSION OBJECTIVES
- Bring Kerrigan to Tassadar’s challenge, alone.
Select an Overlord and load Kerrigan inside. Transport Kerrigan to the island at the center of the map.
Move Kerrigan to the southmost portion of that island. Eventually, Tassadar spawns. Kill him.
Kerrigan: An illusion? Are you afraid to face me, Templar?
Tassadar: So long as you continue to be so predictable, O Queen, I need not face you at all. You are your own worst enemy.
